Hi, welcome to The Soap Shack   

I’m Lyn, the maker and creator behind The Soap Shack.

I handcraft candles, soaps, bath, and home fragrance products in small batches, right here in Mount Cotton, Brisbane, Australia. Everything is made by hand, by me — just as it has been for over 15 years.

How It All Started

The Soap Shack began from a very simple place.

As a young single mum, I didn’t have a lot of money, I couldn’t afford the nice things in my home — I wanted products that felt special without the high price tag. I couldn’t buy the kind of products I loved at a reasonable price, so I decided to start making my own.

What started out of necessity quickly turned into a passion. I spent years learning, experimenting, and perfecting my products, focusing on quality oils, nourishing butters, and carefully chosen botanicals to create items that felt luxurious but were still affordable.

Over time, this naturally grew into a business. Although I later sold that business, I never stopped making - creating remained something I loved doing for family and friends — something I loved and couldn’t quite let go of.

Then, organically and without planning it, it all came full circle. Friends and family began gifting my products, people started asking where they could buy them, and The Soap Shack was created as the business grew once again.

Every product is made in small batches using quality oils, nourishing butters, and botanicals, with care taken at every step from making to packaging.

All products are made locally in Mount Cotton. Keeping things small allows me to focus on quality, consistency, and the little details that make each product something I’m proud to share.

My passion has always been to bring a touch of everyday luxury at an affordable price. It truly means the world to me that people choose to bring a part of The Soap Shack into their homes — it’s a compliment I never take lightly.

A little extra meaning

I've always loved the quiet power of positive words. Affirmations don;t have to be loud or bold - sometimes they are simply gentle reminders that bring comfort, reassurance, and a sense of calm to everyday moments.

That's why my candles and reed diffusers include an affirmation or uplifting quote. It's a small touch, added with care, to help create a space that feels warm, positive and comforting - not just through beautiful scent, but through words that quietly uplift.

To me, its about creating products that feel good in every sense and add a little extra meaning to the moments you use them.
